Obsessed // Velvet

All I want for Christmas is VELVET!
I totally agree with George Costanza from Seinfeld, "I would drape myself in velvet, if it was socially acceptable."
And, well, it pretty much is acceptable this season! Here are a few things that I hope make their way under my tree this year!

1. Velvet Leggings, Disarming Darling. 2. Mint Bow, Red Velvet. 3. Sheer Burnout Curtains, UrbanOutfitters
4. Bow Clutch, Betsey Johnson. 5. Crushed Mini Dress, Shop Calico. 6. Fainting Sofa, UrbanOutfitters. 7. Velvet Pillow, UrbanOutfitters
8. Bell Bottoms, UrbanOutfitters. 9. Wedges, ModCloth. 10. Vintage Platforms, The Clock Strikes Vintage
11. Bralette & Short Set, Free People.

Must See // Documentary Edition

Hello hello! Tis the season to stay indoors and cuddle up with a great flick. If you need a little something to break up your regularly scheduled holiday programing try one of these four documentaries. My new fave, Forks Over Knives, an astoundingly factual food documentary about degenerative diseases being reversed on a plant based diet. Some of the information was mind blowing. My second choice, Bill Cunningham New York, I stumbled across this a few months back and it immediately put a smile on my face. It's the perfect way to really see the transition and trends of American fashion. Next up, The U.S. vs. John Lennon, a real story about the power of love. Last up on this list of must sees, Religulous, I love Bill Maher for not being afraid to ask questions and shed light on topics that others are afraid to really look at. I enjoy learning and being exposed to different views and opinions and seeing the common ground behind them. Happy Holiday watching!

1. Bunny Sweater, Forever 21. 2. High Top Chucks, Converse. 3. Peacock Feather Tights, Modcloth. 4. Deena & Ozzy Biker Bag, UrbanOutfitters. 5. Rayban Retro Cat Sunnies, UrbanOutfitters. 6. Woodland Stacking Rings, UrbanOutfitters

Girl Crush // Suzanne Ford Carafano of Spanish Moss

Swoon! No surprise over here that I have had a major girl crush on Suzanne Ford Carafano of Spanish Moss since I started following her on Myspace back in the day. Her look, her attitude, her style...she has been an inspiration of mine for years, and seems like a super rad chick! I frequently stalk the Spanish Moss blog and always look forward to seeing what Suzanne is wearing and where she is wearing it to. I stumbled across a post on the Foam Magazine blog with these photos of Suzanne and yep, love them all!
I mean come on floral bell bottoms, geo print maxi and studs! Yes, please!

Forget Your Friends // Slow Burning Summer

Hello hello! For those of you that follow me on twitter I am sure you have seen me mention that my handsome Mr. has been working on a new music project with his new band Forget Your Friends. The experimental indie trio has been hitting the studio since July to put together their debut EP featuring their first single, Slow Burning Summer.

This is really special for me to see my Mr. and his vision come to light. He started writing these songs back in March of 2010 and the entire process has morphed into something that fits more perfectly planned. I am so proud of him and his band and I cannot wait for their EP to be finished! In the mean time get your fix with Slow Burning Summer! xoxo

Happy Halloween // Royal Tenenbaum Style

Happy Halloween and happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great Halloween weekend with lots of festivities.
The Mr. and I carved classic jack-o-lanterns on Friday, went to a killer party on Saturday and stayed in all day Sunday watching our favorite Halloween flicks. My all time favorite Halloween movie is none other than John Carpenter's Halloween...
I am actually watching it this morning...quite appropriate if I do say so myself.

For our costumes this year we went as some of our favorite characters, Margot & Richie Tenenbaum, from Wes Anderson's
The Royal Tenenbaums. As another of one of my favorite films it was a major blast to dress up and play the part for the evening.
I kept repeating to the Mr. all night ... "Why'd you choke out there Richie?" and "Let me get a look at you."

So much fun! What did you dress up as? xoxo

Wedding Bells // Jamie & Aaron

Hello hello! I know it has been a little quiet over here for the last week but we have some great reasons for that. Last Sunday, October 9th two of our very good friends, Jamie & Aaron, tied the knot! It was such a wonderful day at the Sportsmen's Lodge in LA and im so honored that I got to spend it with Jamie before she took her vows as well as stand up there with her as her maid of honor.
Here are a few little peaks from that day...
Bridesmaid goodies: Jamie got each of us bridesmaids these little black clutches for the evening, personalized necklaces from
Delicacy J, an extra special glass for the champagne toast and a vintage handkerchief for those teary moments.
The Snyders!
Finally! A new picture of the two of us!
First Dance.
An extra special gift I made for the bride and groom. I gave this little embroidery to Jamie on her wedding shower, a month before the ceremony. I have something extra special in the works for their actual wedding gift...I'll have to share a little later.
xoxo

So sexy, so feminine, I just love big hair... I am especially into the modern beehive
